ITINERARY :
DAY 1 – PADANG AIRPORT – BUKITTINGGI
Either pick up from Padang Airport (Minangkabau International Airport) or your hotel in Padang (during mid day), the trip will proceed to Bukittinggi straight away. Having a coffee break at Panorama Kiambang would be nice moment. Proceed driving to Pandai Sikek Village to see local people make traditional hand weaving and wood carving. Proceed driving to Bukittinggi around 90 Minutes drive and later at noon check in hotel (Bukittinggi).
DAY 2 – BUKITTINGGI – MINANGKABAU Countryside Tour + Harau Valley
Start the day by driving to Batipuah village for one hour drive to see the old building of Minangkabau mosque (Surau) with its original architecture. Then continue driving to Singkarak lake for coffee break. Proceed driving to Balimbiang village to see old traditional Minangkabau houses, especially Rumah Tuo Kampai Nan Panjang which was built without any single nails and thatched roof top. Proceed driving to Batusangkar to visit Istana Pagauyuang Palace, the fascinating Minangkabau traditional big house. Late lunch will be at Flora restaurant surrounded with terraced paddy fields landscape. Proceed driving to Panorama Tabek Patah for a coffee break. Continue driving for 90 minutes and check in at ABDI Homestay late noon.
DAY 3 – HARAU VALLEY lovely countryside walk or jungle walk
Start walking day in the morning, either easy countryside walk or jungle walkaround Harau Valley. Lunch will be in the jungle. Stop at some waterfalls would be a perfect stop after walking and sweating a lot. And then proceed walking back to ABDI homestay later in the afternoon.
DAY 4 – HARAU VALLEY – MANINJAU LAKE
Startheading to Maninjau Lake. After 90 minutes, visit Panorama Park to see the whole fascinating view of Sianok Canyon Bukittinggi. Lunch break is at Taruko resort located at the bottom of Sianok Canyon Bukittinggi. And continue heading to Puncak Lawang to see the fabulous view of Maninjau Lake and also possible to do the Flying Fox and Parachutting/paragliding. Proceed driving to Maninjau Lake beach via Kelok 44 (the hairpin road to Maninjau Lake) and enjoy the beach of Maninjau Lake while having lunch and even swim.
DAY 5 – Easy lovely day by the beach of MANINJAU LAKE
There are some options to do around the lake. Either sunbathing, relaxing, chilling out at the beach of Maninjau Lake, OR possible to do the half day walk from Puncak Lawang down to the Lake, OR even cycling/motorcycling around the lake. The choice is all yours.
DAY 6 – MANINJAU LAKE + BUKITTINGGI + STAY in BUKITTINGGI
Relax, swim and chill out enjoying the lake in the morning. Start heading to Bukittinggi. Coffee break at Panorama Sungai Landia after one drive. Proceed driving to Koto Gadang Village to see local people make traditional handmade silver. Check in hotel (Bukittinggi). Also possible to see rafflesia Flower IF blooming. And it would be a nice noon walk around the clock tower (Jam Gadang) and local market Bukittinggi.
DAY 7 – BUKITTINGGI – PADANG AIRPORT
Start heading to Padang Airport which roughly takes two hours drive. It is possible to drive around Padang downtown if you still have a bit of extra time before heading back to Padang Airport.
