DAY 1 – Padang Airport to Bukittinggi

  • Suggested the latest time to start the tour around 11h00 – End around 17h00.

Either we pick you up from Minangkabau International Airport or your hotel nearby Padang and proceed the trip to Bukittinggi straight away. Taking a coffee break at Panorama Kiambang after 90 minutes drivewould be such a splendid time to spend while getting your muscles stretched out. Then a short visit at Anai Valley waterfall should be delightful to enjoy the green nature. And about 1 hour drive further to visit Pandai Sikek Village to see local people make traditional hand weaving and wood carving. And finally continue driving to Bukittinggi about 1 hour drive to check in your hotel.

DAY 2 –  Bukittinggi – Minangkabau Tour – Harau Valley

  • Start around 08h00 – End around 18h00

Our tour starts to visit Batipuah village to see the old building of Minangkabau mosque (called as ‘Surau’) with its original architecture. Then continue driving to Singkarak lake for a short coffee break. The journey continues to visit Balimbiang village, to see old traditional Minangkabau houses, especially “Rumah Tuo Kampai Nan Panjang” which was built without any nails and thatched roof top. Lunch break will be at Pondok Flora restaurant surrounded with amazing terraced paddy fields landscape at Sungai Tarok village.

Then we proceed driving to Batusangkar to visit tourism highlights of Minangkabau West Sumatra, “Istana Pagaruyung Palace”, the most fascinating Minangkabau traditional big or long house. And after that continue driving to Panorama Tabek Patah for a superb coffee break while enjoying the enchanting terraced paddy field landscape surrounded by Bukit Barisan Range Mountains. And continue the trip for about 90 minutes drive to finally reach Harau Valley and check in hotel.

DAY 3 – Harau Valley Countryside walk + Maninjau Lake

  • Start around 08h00 – End around 18h00

Starting the day by having an easy lovely countryside walk around Harau Valley for about 2 hours walk. And back to homestay, pack up and start head to Maninjau Lake. The first stop after 45 minutes will be at Ngalau Cave, the unique stalagmite and stalactite cave. Then continue driving for about 90 minutes drive to Panorama Park, a breathtaking spot surrounded with the green scenery of Sianok Canyon, and an easy walk to a view point that will give you another of perspective of Bukittinggi’s canyon. Lunch break stop will be at the picturesque village of Taruko Village, located at the bottom of Sianok Canyon.

After spending some time whilst enjoying the tranquil river views of Sianok Canyon. Further on we’ll stop at Lawang village to see how local people make traditional brown sugar and also try the tasty pure sugar cane juice made with the help of blindfolded buffalo. Then we’ll drive to Panorama Puncak Lawang, a lovely hill top location overlooking the fabulous Maninjau Lake. We can take a lovely walk to explore the hill with the splendid backdrop of the lake. And for the adventurous, there is also the option to try Zip Lining and Paragliding here. After the beautiful views looking down on Maninjau Lake, the journey takes us down to the lake itself, travelling via Kelok 44. Navigating the spectacular hairpin road with fantastic views of the valley, we wind our way down to stay overnight at the beach of Arlen Homestay. This is an amazing place for simply relaxing, chilling out, sunbathing at the beach or even swimming in the lake.

DAY 4 – Maninjau Lake to Padang Airport

  • Start around 10h00 – End around 18h00

You can relax and enjoy the lake in the morning time, and around 10h00 from Maninjau Lake, we travel back via 44 hairpin road again heading to Padang Airport. On our way we will have a coffee break at magnificent Panorama Sungai Landia after one hour drive. Then proceed driving for 30 minutes to Koto Gadang Village to see local people make traditional handmade silver. Lunch stop will be on our way at any local restaurant. Later on further drive to Padang airport which will be the end of the trip.
