TRAVEL ITINERARY :
DAY 1 – Padang Airport to Maninjau Lake West Sumatra
- Suggested the latest time to start the tour around 11h00 – End around 17h00.
Either pick up from Padang Airport (Minangkabau International Airport) or your hotel in Padang (during mid day), the trip will proceed to Maninjau Lake straight away. Having a coffee break at Panorama Kiambang would be nice moment. Proceed driving to Maninjau Lake for about three hours drive. Coffee break at Panorama Sungai Landia, later on proceed driving to Ambun Pagi village to see the whole view of Maninjau Lake before descending to Maninjau Lake viacKelok 44 hairpin road and check in hotel (Maninjau Lake) late at noon.
DAY 2 – Easy lovely day by the beach of MANINJAU LAKE
There are some options to do around the lake. Either sunbathing, relaxing, chilling out at the beach of Maninjau Lake, OR possible to do the half day walk from Puncak Lawang down to the Lake, OR even cycling/motorcycling around the lake. The choice is all yours.
DAY 3 – Maninjau Lake Tour to Bukittinggi
- Start around 08h00 – End around 17h00
Starting heading to Bukittinggi. Coffee break at Taruko Resort located at the bottom of Sianok Canyon Bukittinggi after driving for 90 minutes. Proceed driving to Koto Gadang Village to see local people make traditional handmade silver. Proceed driving for about 30 minutes to Pandai Sikek Village to see local people make traditional hand weaving and wood carving. Later in the afternoon visit Panorama Park to see the whole fascinating view of Sianok Canyon Bukittinggi. Check in hotel (Bukittinggi).
DAY 4 – Minangkabau Tour to Padang Airport
- Start around 08h00 – End around 17h00
On the last day is to do Minangkabau tour by driving to Panorama Tabek Patah for a superb coffee break while enjoying the enchanting terraced paddy field landscape surrounded by Bukit Barisan Range Mountains. Later on proceed driving to Batusangkar to visit highlights of Minangkabau West Sumatra tourism, “Istana Pagaruyung Palace”, the most fabulous Minangkabau traditional big (long) house. Lunch break will be at Pondok Flora restaurant surrounded with amazing terraced paddy fields landscape at Sungai Tarok village. The journey continue to visit Balimbiang village, to see old traditional Minangkabau houses, especially “Rumah Tuo Kampai Nan Panjang” which was built without any single nails and thatched roof top. Continue driving to Singkarak lake for a lovely coffee break. Proceed driving to Batipuah village to see the old building of Minangkabau mosque (called as ‘Surau’) with its original architecture. Later on a short visit at Anai Valley waterfall would be splendid to enjoy the lovely landscape. Then we are heading straight to Padang Airport roughly takes 2 hours drive.
